Chocolate Mug Cake (No Chocolate Needed!) - Special Post
Welcome back!
I am sure you have heard of the phrase, "Sugar and spice and all things nice!" If you haven't, its in a popular nursery rhyme from way back in the 19th century. Anyway, I was thinking about the phrase earlier today and decided to make a chocolate mug cake. (There is both sugar and spice in these!) I grabbed a few ingredients, whipped them all up, and in no time I was happily munching on the tasty treat. Mug cakes are the perfect little snack for when you are craving some cake, so I decided to share the recipe with you!
(I know this isn't really the normal flow for the website, but I'd really like to share this awesome recipe with you all! I started off with a recipe from a website a few years ago, but I slowly changed and edited it a bit to become this! Hope you enjoy it!)
Wet Ingredients:
2-3 tablespoons- Water
2 tablespoons- Vegetable Oil
Dry Ingredients:
2 tablespoons- All-Purpose Flour
3 tablespoons- Cocoa Powder (I use Nesquick)
1 tablespoon- Sugar
1/2 tablespoon- Cinnamon Powder
Prep Time: 5-8 minutes
Cook Time: About 1 minute
Steps:

| Add fruit once microwaved for extra flavor! |
- Take out your favorite, reasonable, sized mug (I use a cute snowman mug).
- Add the all the dry ingredients EXCEPT the cinnamon.
- Add all the wet ingredients. If the mug cake still looks dry, you might want to add another 1/2 tablespoon of water. (Notice how I said 2-3 tablespoons of water, because it all depends on how you make it)
- Mix.
- If the mug cake batter looks nice and fluffy, add the cinnamon and mix more.
- Microwave for 1 minute. (I recommend putting it for 30 seconds, then checking on it with a toothpick. If it still needs more baking time, just pop it back in!)
- Enjoy!
That's how I make mug cakes! You can decorate them any way you want, like the girl above, or add a drizzle of extra chocolate. (Who'll say no to that?)
Tell me in the comments below how everything turned out, and if you liked the recipe! Stay tuned, and S.P.A.T.!

- Help Save the Vaquitas!
- Vaquitas are critically endangered, with some scientists estimating only 10-15 left in the wild. This number is decreasing with the number of fishing accidents that happen, and we have to help! To learn more, read my post on vaquitas to gain insight and learn about websites that can help you contribute to their cause here.
