Endangered Animals: A Lion's Story
The population of animals is decreasing, and it is partially our responsibility. We have been barging into forests, cutting down trees and habitats. We have been hunting for animals selfishly for their beautiful coats and soft fur. This post is a lioness's perspective, when hunters kill a member of her family.
The very next day from the killing, there was a news report titled about the two hunters.
This story explains the hardships animals face with their lives when we interfere. This story may not be true, but cases happen. We want to prevent what we can. Humans are all in it together. Spread the word to protect animals! You can donate to an animal shelter, adopt, or volunteer at a rescue center. After all, how can you say no to such cute faces?

The Lioness and the Hunters
One sunny day in the Savannah, a lion and two lionesses lay motionless after their heavy meal. Their cubs cheerfully played with each other and rolled around, each one piling onto the other. A normal lion pack, or pride, consists of 15 or more animals, but these lions were alone and in danger. The rest of the pride was killed by traps set up by hunters, and guns shot directly toward the lions. Their family got smaller and smaller, until only the lion, lionesses, and cubs were left. The group decided to move away from the places the hunters were last seen, to prevent any further deaths.
The lions, were smart to move, but weren't quick enough. A hunter, about as tall as a 6 foot man, emerged from the shadows of the tall grass a few minutes into their walk. Another one came out holding a large contraption that seemed to be a gigantic gun. The two were dressed in faded yellow attire, to blend into the grass. The lion sensed the hunter and stood still. He stared at the gun, his big eyes shimmering. He knew he couldn't do anything with the gun in their hands. If the lion moved, the hunter would kill him. The hunter straightened his cap, and grabbed the gun from the other's hand.
"I'll do this job, Scoot. You get out the camera so the world can see my skills for hunting," the hunter growled.
Mumbling, Scoot went down into the grass again, and appeared a few moments later with a camera and a stand. The boss of the operation, thinking Scoot was set up, aimed for the lionesses. He knew their fur was soft and cozy, maybe for some warm clothing.
BAM
Like that, the lioness lied once more, this time with no life in her. The lion roared, and the lioness backed away with her cubs. The hunter aimed at the lion, but missed, and the lion saw the chance. He ran toward the two men at full speed. Scoot took out his phone and tried dialing emergency officials, with no luck. The lion leaped, and landed on the boss and scoot, ripping the life out of them. He was quite mad someone had taken the life of the poor lioness, without any good reason to kill her. The lion walked away from the men, thinking they were finished. Scoot, got up, with the little strength in him, and fired a bullet. The bullet was aimed straight for the lion, and killed the target perfectly. The lion now lay with the lioness, dead. The other lioness and the cubs came out from hiding, and looked at the lion.
The lioness roared and cried for help. Her luck had been gone. Her whole pride was gone. She went over and crushed the human's materials, though she knew it wouldn't make a difference. The cubs lay by their father and played for the last time. As the night's wind whistled and the moon shone above them, the lioness knew she could never trust humans again.

This morning we come with news from the African Savannah. Two innocent men were found dead next to a lion. People have suggested the two men were lost and were walking through the Savannah when the lion attacked them. Scared, the men probably ran, but the lion sprung and ate them. The story is going around, and caution is being put around lions. The mayor has sent out more lion hunters, and rest assured there will be no more lions that cause deaths.
